The nation's top prosecutor stated that Maduro and his wife confront charges in a federal court, including plots related to narco-terrorism, cocaine importation, and weapons offenses. "They will in due course experience the full weight of American law on American soil," the declaration continued. It finished by praising the president for demanding justice and saluting the courageous military for a highly effective mission.
"The Venezuelan leader is not the President of Venezuela... Maduro is the leader of a narco-terror cartel... and he is under indictment for pushing narcotics into the America," said the top US diplomat.
The Vice-President echoed this sentiment, noting that the president had offered several chances for de-escalation but was clear that narco-terrorism must end. "He is the newest person to find out that President Trump means what he says," the remarks added.
